GN Hospital launches special health care services for the elderly

JAMMU, 7th May: The Department of Health under the leadership of Director of Health Services, Jammu has taken a new initiative to extend special care to elderly people visiting Gandhi Nagar Government Hospital, Jammu.

All facilities are provided free of charge under the Ayushman Bharat digital mission, ABHA cards (Ayushman Bharat health account) are generated for all elderly people so that they do not have to queue for services related to health in hospital.

The services provided free of charge to the elderly in priority are clinical check-up, physiotherapy sessions from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., free medication under the NCDCP (Non-Communicable Diseases Control Program) and the NPHCE (National for the health of the elderly), free Diagnostics: all laboratory tests, X-rays, ultrasounds and CT scans, regular yoga sessions, advice and AYUSH services.

In addition to this, a special health club for seniors named “2nd Innings Club” is held every Saturday from 12:00 p.m. where seniors can come hang out and enjoy all the listed facilities under one roof. .

In addition, a 10-bed ward has been dedicated to government seniors. Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Jammu. One step ahead, home visits by the Physiotherapist will begin soon. Also a special OPD of PMR (Physical Medicine Rehabilitation) will also be dedicated to the geriatric population from May 9, 2022.
